Louis Sarowsky


Louis Sarowsky represents a new generation of self-taught artists one that is less concerned with tradition than with following instinct. Fearless in both ambition and execution, these artists don't wait for permission or formal training before pursuing difficult ideas. They simply begin, learning through persistence, curiosity, and making.

Granite is among the most demanding materials a sculptor can work with, requiring patience, precision, and an immense amount of physical labor. Yet after only a few years of carving stone, Louis has developed a visual language that feels distinctly his own. Rather than looking backward, his sculptures draw from the culture and experiences that shaped him, transforming personal history into enduring works that feel both immediate and timeless.

Many already know Louis as "Lurker Lou," whose skateboarding and unmistakable personality have always existed on his own terms. That same independent spirit carries into his sculpture, where intuition, craftsmanship, and lived experience come together in a way that feels honest and original.

We're excited to present what feels like the next chapter in Louis's creative journey. His work reflects the confidence of an artist who has found his voice through making not through convention and we're proud to share this evolving body of sculpture with a wider audience.

Court Tree Collective is an art gallery committed to pushing boundaries in close collaboration with the artists it represents. Its program is rooted in original, thought-provoking work that resists easy categorization, rejecting the confines of traditional labels in favor of a distinct energy and point of view. More than a conventional gallery, it operates as a living, evolving space driven by instinct and a shared creative momentum that challenges the norms of the art world.

Founded and run independently by Stephen Lipuma and Amy Ng, Court Tree Collective exists outside the influence of corporate structures and the often exclusionary traditions of the industry. Sustained through alternative means and guided by an artist-first ethos, the gallery reflects the lived experience of its founders, who continue to embrace risk as an essential part of their practice. Drawing from counterculture, heritage, pop, skateboarding, music, and everyday life, the gallery cultivates a hybrid sensibility, where outsider perspectives and formal training intersect to create something immediate, raw, and resonant.︎
